Cashmere

If you're a regular reader, you might have seen this before but I love this soap so much I'm showing off pictures of it again!

This is Cashmere, it's one of our best selling fragrances, it is described as a blend of essences of Moroccan jasmine, lily of the valley and bergamot with warm undertones of sandalwood, amber and musk. It is such a beautiful, elegant fragrance that is not too floral with a warm basenote.

We've used chocolate brown swirled with soft vintage pink and golden soap to recreate the luxurious feel of cashmere silk against your skin. This will be cured in February 2012 and will be available online at http://www.iamhandmade.com.

Cherry Blossom & Kismet

I managed to get into the kitchen for long enough yesterday evening to cut the two loaves of soap you will have seen in the last video ... and then I made a video about them! So here are Cherry Blossom (a floral bouquet of cherry blossom, regal iris, jasmine, rose, lily of the valley & soft freesia on a base of musk & deep amber) coloured with pale pink, pale green and white and Kismet (a blend of patchouli, orange, lemongrass, lavendin, pine, gardenia, sandalwood and musk).

If you watched my other videos, you'll know I was worried that Kismet would be full of mega air holes as the soap set up so quickly on me - this one's a mover (and I didn't use any water discount or anything, full water, cool temperatures etc), but it worked out really well .. a couple of air holes here and there, but hey, don't they help the soap to breathe right?

For the cherry blossom, I wanted to make something that reminded me of my Mother ... not old fashioned or anything but as cherry blossoms were her favourite tree, I just wanted to make something that brought me the feelings I have when I remember her.. hope that doesn't sound to sappy!

Anyway, enough writing... here is the new video.. enjoy!

New Video - Cutting of Jasmine & Green Tea

My second venture into the world of soap video making ... this is me, cutting my latest soap, Jasmine & Green Tea.

Check out this baby!  She is a beauty - a blend of jasmine & green tea fragrance oils, the jasmine adding a heady exotic floral note and the citrusy green tea a wonderfully refreshing note.  All made with our usual blend of sweet almond, golden olive and avocado oils with lots of cooca butter and, of course, pure wild silk.  Sheer luxury!!!

This will be fully cured by 10 October - drop me a line at info@soaperstar.com if you're interested in pre-ordinerg some.

Two new Summer Soaps from Soaperstar

I've not soaped in a while and I really wanted to get started on my Summer range - I also really wanted to use the new POP micas I have specially imported from the US, a great range of seven fabulous brightly coloured mica powders that I have been drooling over for quite some time (not literally of course, that'd be gross!)

Both soaps have a blend of the purest, highest quality goatsmilk and clear glycerine soaps (which are natural humectants - they attract moisture from the air into your skin) to which we've added our special additional skin hydrating element which provides your skin with increased hydration and provies excellent moisturisation.

Mango Island is wonderfully fragranced with the sweet exotic tropical fragrance of Mango - a beautifully perfumed, not too sweet fruity fragrance. Reflecting the natural yellow and orange fresh sweet Mangoes, we have coloured this luxury soap with tones of yellow & orange glycerine and white goatsmilk soaps - we've also added natural mica, specially imported from the US, to give a glittery sheen, reminding you of sweet delicious mango juice.

To make it even more luxurious, we've also added exotic Mango Butter (what else could we have used?!) which is rich in beta carotene and Vitamins A & E. Mango Butter is highly moisturising and has excellent softening and regenerative properties, with the added bonus that it is thought be protective against UV rays. It is claimed that it can help to reduce the degeneration of the skin’s cells and help to restore elasticity, so makes an excellent ingredient in products for mature skins.

Lazy Summer Sunday is wonderfully fragranced - a heart of jasmine, orange blossom, lilac & rose, supported by a woody base of cedarwood, patchouli, vanilla & musk. The floral elements appeal to women and the cedarwood/patchouli to men (or vice versa!) .. this is very clean, almost "soapy" fragrance (and it's my husband's current favourite!).

We wanted to use colours to represent the concept of a Lazy Summer Sunday, and choose deep tones of blues and purple natural mica, specially imported from the US, to create a luxury soap that is reminiscent of your favourite lazy Summer Sunday afternoons.

To make this an extraordinary luxury soap, we have incorporated the finest Organic Unrefined Nilotica Shea Butter which is considered a premium shea butter and is the creamiest, most luxurious version available. This butter is superb in helping to retain skin elasticity and is incredibly useful for treating very dry, cracked and sun damaged skin as well as psoriasis and eczema.

I hope you love these soaps ... I adore their vibrant colours and I have to admit, my kitchen smelt just fabulous after making them! If you're interested in purchasing either (or both) of these soaps, please don't hesitate to drop into our Soaperstar Online Store - we'd love to see you!

A Trio of New Body Butters/Creams!

Today is my birthday and I celebrated by having a half day from work, and then spending the afternoon (after a nice lunch courtesy of my lovely hubby!), making new body butters/creams.  The cream on the top is made with Coconut Oil, Mango Butter and Walnut Oil (an oil particularly good for dry and sensitive skin) and is scented with Pomegranite Noir - a sexy blend of pomegranates, raspberries, plums and pink peppercorns, with frankincense, patchouli and spicy dark woods.  The cream on the left looks rather a murky brown but is, in fact, a lovely pale green (not sure what happened to the colour in the picture!) - this is because it's made from Unrefined Avocado Oil (the darkest green oil you'll ever see), Avocado Butter and Shea Butter and is fragranced with Patchouli, Sandalwood and Jasmine fragrance oil (reminiscent of hippy days!) and, finally, the cream on the left is made from Shea Butter, Coconut Oil and Babassu Oil (particularly excellent for dry and sensitive skin) and is scented with Amber Lavendar fragrance oil - really beautiful.

Each of the creams has an added moisturising factor called Lamesoft which is an Ecocert registered ‘green’ biolipid derived from 100% natural and renewable materials.  It is a mild and gentle additive that is designed to increase skin moisturisation; of course, they all contain the recommended level of preservative to ensure that the creams are fully beneficial to the skin and no baddies survive to do anything horrid!!

My house smells so good right now and my skin is going to lap all these wonderful ingredients!!! A very nice birthday present to myself!
