Adam + Eve - New Design

In keeping with the restocking/redesign theme we started with Peony Sorbet, I had to do a remake of our Adam + Eve Pure Silk Soap.  This is, again, one of our top sellers because the scent is just so lovely and the black and white design is always a classic favourite.  However, there's classic and there's oh I've seen that a hundred times before and I wanted this classic to be a WOW classic, if you see what I mean.

The soap is made with Sweet Almond & Golden Olive Oils with lashings of creamy Cocoa Butter but not just that, it also has Aloe Vera, Buttermilk, Goatsmilk & Coconut Milk along with White Clay and Colloidal Oatmeal.  It's fragranced with Vanilla Anise - this fragrance is described as blending the incredible fragrance of Madagascan Orchid Vanilla with the spicy accent of anise and the warmth of vetiver, amber and clove, creates an unexpected, modern story of vanilla.  It is truly a divinely deep scent and one loved by both men and women.

I coloured the black part of the soap using Midnight Black Clay & Activated Charcoal which are both extremely good for the skin in terms of cleansing and removing excess oils.

So, challenging myself to the hanger swirl again (and a great opportunity to see it done again if you're a little nervous about trying it), I remade Adam + Eve and you can see the Making Of video here:

And you can see the reveal when we do the Cutting video here:

Here are the stills photos taken, as always, by our favourite photographer, Titch Holland from http://www.facebook.com/takenbytitch (make sure to check out her page!).. hope you like them:

The soap will be fully cured by 20 August and should be on the site just shortly before then for ordering.  Hope you enjoy the photos and videos!!!

I've been a little busy this weekend making videos!

I've been a little busy this weekend making videos .. I've not made one in a while and just felt like showing people how I made my soaps.  I got a great response from the making of Adam & Eve video that I did another two today, both cutting soaps ... Black Raspberry Vanilla and the Adam & Eve shown in the previous video.

So, here you go, for your viewing pleasure, two new videos:

New Video - The Making of a Soap

Well, I've run out of a few of my most popular soaps so have been working too get them made and cured before people start shouting at me!

Last night, I did a remake of our very popular Adam & Eve soap, a black and white, Vanilla Anise fragranced soap (this is a DIVINE fragrance) and Titch and I decided to video the whole process.

There are a few technical issues in the video... for one, the video was in 3 parts originally, the first part was silent for some reason (I have no idea why I didn't speak), but I managed to get them all together.  Then I left a spoon in one of my jugs and promptly poured a ton of soap on it (d'oh!) and then the video cut off again.

But, no matter, it's a good video (I think) so I wanted to show it to you.  I'm embedding the video itself but I think that doesn't show up on the email subscription so I'm including the link too.

Enjoy!!

Adam & Eve

Following on from the recent poll I held on Facebook, the Vanilla Anise fragrance I had delivered about two weeks ago was the second favourite for me to soap.  I simple adore this scent - it's light and dark at the same time, very grown up, very unisex.  I haven't met anyone yet who didn't like it.  It's described as a blend of vanilla orchid against a spicy accent of anise and the warmth of vetiver, amber and clove.  For people who don't like vanilla, you'll still love this - and I know that Dennise of Briny Bar Soap has given it a total thumbs up .. she even took it on a road trip across the States with her and uses it as a shampoo bar!

It's had a revamp since I made it last (it was one of my tester fragrances, I wanted to see how it'd behave and how well the fragrance would last - I was very happy with both tests!).  I wanted something more dramatic though - I thought the original look just didn't do the fragrance justice.

For this version, I've used Golden Olive Oil, Cocoa Butter, organic Palm Oil (of course, from a sustainable source), Coconut Oil and Castor Oil (gotta love them bubbles!).  As ever, I added Pure Silk - this really adds a luxurious element to the soap, I just wouldn't be without it (we deserve it people!).  It's coloured with titanium dioxide and black mica that I bought from the US.

I'm dying to hear what you think of this - I was inspired by a fellow soaper, Ka fée from Soap Session who made a similar soap and I just had to try it out.  I hope she is impressed with it!

Oh and I'm calling it Adam & Eve, because my hubs had to help me with the design; once I'd preppred everything and got the mix into one jug of raw black soap and one of raw white soap, I needed to get it into the mould as soon as I could so hubs helped about half way through and worked with the white as I worked with the black.  Adam & Eve is named for us but it helps that it's a very unisex fragrance too!

So.. I present you Adam & Eve:
