So, this winter, I was being cheap (hey, we all have to these days, right?) and got a pair of on sale Doc Martins... I love the things but they do not love my feet. After weeks of breaking them in (very painfully I might add) my left foot is now suffering hugely again - they just don't support my foot like I need. I'm horribly flat footed and I need the support the Birkenstocks give me. Plus I'm suspecting the bad foot is making me compensate with my right leg and now my right knee is giving me problems.
So, the other day, I said enough is enough... and went online and looked up Birkenstocks in Ireland and found www.littletreeshoes.com ... free shipping for anything over 39.99 euro too! And I bought these...
They are sooooooooooooooooo comfy and I'm hoping they stop the pain as soon as possible.
Of course, now I'm looking these for the summer....
Oh these look divine. I have a pair of brown ones that are open toe with a back buckle and two straps that go over the front. Love them in summer time. I always made fun of people wearing them when I was younger and used to call them Jerusalem sandals but now I have a pair.
ReplyDeleteLove the silver ones you are looking at too.

Me too.. I always thought they were old lady shoes and now I can't live without out them!
DeleteHi! You reminded me of my love for Birks and inspired me... so i just bought some myself!!! Can't wait.... Thanks Celine. xoxo Jen
ReplyDeleteOhhh what ones did you get? Mine are even shinier in real life, makes me VERY happy!
DeleteIf it's not your 'swirls' that get me all excited then it's your new shoes! Hope your pain is better soon (don't envy that at all!)

LOL that's why I like the shiny/patterned shoes! The more funky the better!
DeleteThey look comfy! I am flat-footed too and can't stand to wear shoes. Maybe I'll look these up!
ReplyDeleteI can't go barefoot either, that just about kills me ... they take a little time to get used to cos they support your feet so much and, when you're not used to it, its odd!
DeleteI've loved Birks since high school--and have worn them for nearly 20 years!! I share your foot happiness.
ReplyDeleteMy feet are almost smiling already!
DeleteAs a nurse with bad feet I found Birenstocks saved my life ! I also wear Alegria brand. They have even funner colors and designs !
ReplyDeleteDonna... you got me on to looking at that brand, now I found a pair in red shiny patent (ok sounds gross but looks incredible) and now I WANT!!! I need to get a pair for sure but not sure there's an Irish supplier but I can get them from the UK online. Really funky and great colours. Thank you!!
DeleteI wore suede birkinstock clogs all winter and am back to the sandals again. I love these shoes. My DD thinks they are old lady shoes, just wait, all those high heels are going to kill her feet and she'll be looking for comfortable shoes!
ReplyDeleteNah old lady? No way, how can metallic shiny purple shoes be old lady? You'll get the last laugh I think LOL
DeleteI adore Birkenstocks, too! I had 6 pairs at one time back when I was single although I got most of them fairly cheap on ebay, new. I have one pair of lace-up, oxford type birkies--so nice for winter!
ReplyDeleteOhhh I've not seen them for cheap but I shall be going to look now, thanks for the tip!
DeleteLoved your post. I'm always on the lookout for good shoes. I'll have to check these out.

Ohhh! I've always wanted a pair of Birks! Maybe I should break down and get a pair. I grew up on a Hippy Island and everyone wears them there! lol I just wish they weren't so expensive ~Sacha
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these shoes, especially your new shiny bling ones (massive shoe envy going on here!!), thats it, I will have to get myself a new pair for the summer, you have reminded me how lovely they are to wear and the fakes just dont cut the mustard in my opinion. Happy Feet XX
