Introducing my new Latte Lotion!

Introducing my Latte Lotion!!!

Ohhhhhhhhhhh!!! It's sooooooooooooo good!!! I decided to treat myself today and made a Latte Lotion all for myself :)

It has Sweet Almond Oil, Rice Bran Oil and Coffee Butter in it.. smells lightly of roasted coffee beans and feels like silk when you put it on. Coffee Butter is a lovely, lovely ingredient - it smells so wonderful by itself that you really don't need to add any additional fragrance or essential oils to your cream.

I made a nice big tub of it for myself - can't wait to try it tomorrow.

Possible logo?

Just testing out a possible logo....

My first commission!

Evening everyone!

Firstly, can I have a YAY IT'S FRIDAY!!!???!!! I so love the weekend because that's when I get to play with my soaps and creams which makes me very happy.

I've been given my first commission - I've been asked to make a cream for an eldery person who has very thin, dry skin - so I'll be working on that tomorrow. I'm thinking jojoba oil anyway, possibly olive squalane, maybe shea butter also... no scent as I don't want to aggravate his sensitive skin. I was thinking of making a body butter but I think a softer cream may be easier to apply, I don't want a drag effect either.

As I'm not yet safety assessed for creams & lotions, I won't be charging and will just look at this as an opportunity to help someone else out... my weekend karma I suppose you could call it :)

New Soap Queen Video

I thought people might want to see this ... I love Anne-Marie's work and she makes it all look so simple. Not so simple when I do it but she's had years of experience so I guess I'll use that as my excuse! I'll add in others as she makes them - handy resource of anyone reading here.

Safety Assessment

Well... first step towards (soap) world domination!!

I've applied for my soap safety assessment - in Ireland (and the rest of the EU), all cosmetic products must be safety assessed (though, oddly, Ireland doesn't insist on pre-market assessment, just post-market survelliance which seems odd to me but anywho!)... I figured I would get my soaps safety assessed so that I can be assured that anything I make is safe for those who wish to buy it. I feel this is so important and a real mark of quality. So, I'm just waiting to see what happens next ... I'll keep you updated!!

I made some soap today! I bought new colours and fragrances and wanted to try them out. I've made my first soap loaf... whooooooppppppp whoooooooo!!! It's made with clear glycerine and goats milk soap, scented with Melon & Lime Cooler and has added Sweet Almond Oil and something called Lamasoft which increases moisturisation.

Smells lovely and works beautifully!!! Take a mo and tell me what you think?!

Morning ... sorry no recent posts as I've been a mite poorly; I've had a foot problem for over a year now and I've finally decided to do something about it (as, apparently, it isn't getting better by itself). So, having visited the physio yesterday, it seems, not only do I have the original problem, I've now compounded it and added several other problems also. What fun!!! I'm currently strapped up and feeling uncomfy and still in pain. I've another appointment on Monday and I don't think I'll have had the results she was looking for (which was being pain free). Why can't they just do foot transplants or I could just grow another, pain free, one???

However, I will be soap making later as I've received some fabulous new colours and I'm dying to try them out. I'm full of great ideas so let's see if they translate the way I think they should, from my brain to the real thing!!! Pics later, promise!

In the meantime, have a fabby Saturday!!!

Well, I received my delivery of goodies today and couldn't resist making a little soap just before making dinner (those who know me, know I don't cook but hubby's off making movies this week, so it's me making dinner or we'd all starve).

Anyway, thought I'd put up a pic cos I rather like it....
One tiny glitch but no matter, c'est magnifique, n'est pas??!!

I made my "virgin" cream today... feels lovely but hubby says it doesn't smell nice at all ... now how can that be if I put no fragrance in at all? Men!

It feels lovely and my skin feels great... as with everything else, it needs to be tested more before I can completely say "success" but it's going well so far!
Morning all - this evening I'll be making a "virgin" cream (no, not like that you bad things!)... but an unscented cream for use on my face. Just another of my experiments - I think I'll add avocado butter to the mix and see how it goes (it's very good for the ... ahem... more mature skin).

I'll let you know how it goes!

Well I used my Ginger Souffle Body Butter this morning after my shower (when I used my honey, oatmeal and chocolate soap), and it was lovely!! The scent is very nice and mellows out really well on your skin. I love that clothes/skin feel - by that I mean like when you've had a bath and moisturise and then get between clean, cool sheets... know that feeling? Well this BB gives a great clothes/skin feel when you dress afterwards. I'll keep using it and see how my skin reacts to it over time - first go is never a real indicator.

The lotion is really nice but more a body milk really than a facial moisturiser (not that I set out to make a facial moisturiser to be honest!) - leaves a really nice powdery feel to your skin.

And today I bought some Chamomile Essential Oil (EO) which I'll use towards a facial moisturiser. I think that'll need more work in order to choose the correct oils/butters that suit my skin.

Well my lotion making day is over... the lotion is good, if a little too strongly scented for my tastes. Note to self to reduce that amount by half or possibly make a fragrance free version, especially if it's for facial use.

The body butter feels really nice - again scent may be a little too strong for now but time will tell. I'll use this after my shower tomorrow and see how it feels. Hubby approves of it very strongly which is a good thing.

Off to bed now, so I'll say goodnight to everyone. Tomorrow is another day :)

These are a couple of pics of my latest projects - lotion and a body butter. My Rose & Neroli lotion is on the left and is made from orchid oil complex, olive squalane and carrot tissue oil. My Ginger Souffle body butter is made from macadamia nut oil, mango butter, carrot tissue oil, sweet almond oil, shea butter and babassu nut oil - all scented beautifully with the nicest ginger smell ever.

Well, this is my very first post on my blog! Not 100% sure what I should be doing but it'll be fun to learn!

My name is Celine and I make soaps and lotions/creams/body butters etc. For now, they're just for me, friends and family but who knows what'll happen in the future.
